I bought this to try Chromecast with Google TV to use a USB flash drive to expand storage, some internal storage on GTV. All I needed was something with pass-through PD and USB-A, and it was the best value I could find at the time of purchase. At first I thought it wouldn't work. I unplugged the power from the GTV, plugged it into the GTV's only port which is USB-C, and then plugged the GTV's power cord (USB-C) into the PD port on it. It started to turn on but then showed an error on the screen and wouldn't load the GTV Launcher. After a bit of internet research I found that the adapter that comes with the GTV is so low powered that if you plug something like that in between there won't be enough power to work properly. I already have a number of power adapters and cables and have replaced the GTV power adapter with the one that came with one of my Google Pixel phones and that actually helped. .I have verified that the GTV can see the USB stick I plugged in and allows me to move data/applications to it. I don't really need to use it with my only GTV right now, but it's nice to use when I decide I need more storage or have extra USB-A ports available for my Macbook or Pixelbook.
