Review on Enhance Your Furniture with Sauton's Folding Lift Up Top Table Mechanism Hardware Fitting Hinge: Gas Hydraulic Lift Up Table Mechanism (1 Pair) by Dean Pinheiro

Fantastic hardware hinges

These pull/lift hinges have worked great for me. As mentioned in some of the other reviews, the pair didn't line up perfectly (and one of the hinges stays closed with no weight and the other doesn't), but after installing it in my homemade liquor cabinet, they worked perfectly. Mine was 13" long when fully closed, about 4" deep and 1" wide. Installation is much easier if the back/base of what you are installing is open. Just flip the base open the closed hinged door/table top. Then position the hinges where you want them and screw them in. A few holes are not accessible until you open it again, after that you can finish screwing in the base. I used #8 x 1/ 2 "wood screws" used to attach the hinges to 1" (actually 0.75") pine. For those wondering, even when installed vertically, the hinges stay closed if the door is heavy enough. I have a .75" x 16.5" x 24" pine and it was heavy enough to hold the plungers/hinges closed. The plunger movement is also nice and smooth when extending from the center of the door opens and closes. Comes out about 5 inches and over 10.
