I used these to attach a lift top to a coffee table I built (see photo). The table top is not too heavy for these supports despite the solid wood. They might even be a bit over the top to raise the top of my desk. They open unevenly, so I have to lift them at both ends of the table, not the middle, or else it will curl up.
