I was suspicious of using any hinge of this type after reading reviews with problems, especially with the strength. However, it is great! Easy to install, just mark and drill a few holes and screw in place. (Screws are not included, although this makes sense as wood thickness can vary.) A tip: attach the top of the table before attaching the bottom. Screwing in these screws is much easier. These hinges are remarkably strong and hardly budge in the up or down position. No additional spacers or reinforcements were required. The table top can be easily raised and lowered. Not the cheapest in this style, but they worked so well on a 24" x 50" desk that I just bought two more sets.
