Review on MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 255/40 R18 105Y summer by Adam Koakowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for the money, definitely recommended!

I am writing on first impressions (200 km mileage) and after changing the excellent winter tires Continental on spikes. Summer ones before that were Nokian Hakka, I don’t remember which one (2022), which I rolled into rags, although I didn’t like it. Size 205/55 R16, Ford Mondeo, 145 hp In short, great tires! Nokian can’t stand any comparison with them at all: they didn’t cling to the asphalt, they made noise and wore out terribly with breaks. Well, at least he didn't get into an accident. Michelin are soft, while yesterday I was driving in the snow along the highway and +3 degrees on them - "like on dry land"! Even in such weather, they keep excellent at 120-140 km / h, they brake perfectly (neighbors downstream on winter tires at traffic lights could not stop before the stop line, but I had no problems). In comparison with the winter studded Continental ContiWinter 5, if I'm not mistaken, Michelin is also ahead: they don't scour the ruts at speed so much, they are quiet and soft. Winter Conti is tough even at positive temperatures compared to PilotSport4! At a price of 4880/ pc - this is the best choice in my opinion. Continental SportContact 6 and 5 are significantly more expensive, and there are no other competitors in this niche. I boldly recommend.

Pros
  • Softer, cheaper than Conti, handles ruts well and performs well at high speed (after 120)
Cons
  • In appearance it seems that the projector is shallow. It's probably just me.)
