Foreword, I am a computer scientist with a lot of experience/understanding of this topic. Gsync doesn't work properly by default, but even after working with all the settings I can still encounter endless problems with the alternate tab of games. For some reason, monitors display 3840 x 2160 by default. This is very annoying as it is a 2560x1440 monitor. Changing Windows settings, game settings and NVIDIA Control Panel settings does not change this for full screen mode (tested in both Valorant and Rocket League). You have to run the game in borderless full-screen mode, which tends to increase input lag because the window no longer has absolute priority over all other windows in full-screen mode. You can try changing your NVIDIA Control Panel settings to run at Gsync + 170Hz + 2560 x 1440 resolution in borderless full screen mode, but even then, sometimes you Alt-Tab it down to the resolution of 120Hz-4k reset. If you're not tech savvy, it's too much to do, and even after it works, it still keeps breaking. I also experience a lot of screen flickering and even some lag that appears to be display related. I had no problems with my 1080p Gsync 165Hz monitor. I replaced this monitor with one. If Gsync and 170Hz don't work properly, this isn't the best monitor for gaming, which is the main target for the model I bought. I would definitely not recommend this product based on the issues I had, which was extremely disappointing and downright odd.
