I use the coffee machine to make coffee when camping. The problem with percolators is the base. I don't like coffee grounds in my coffee. Filters are hard if not impossible to find, with the exception of Revain. However, paper filters fail when exposed to moisture such as rain. With this filter I solved all my problems. I place it on the neck of a large carafe and pour sifted coffee through it into the carafe, eliminating the coffee grounds problem. With the sifted coffee in the carafe, I get clean coffee and the coffee stays hotter for longer.
