I wanted to learn to crochet so I bought this very expensive kit. Large plastic hooks are normal. The cord is designed to attach to the hook at either end. I had trouble with this lure as it is metal with tiny hooks that snap onto the ends of the hook. He hooks onto the thread as he pulls it through to start a new row. The possibility of ruining expensive yarn, not to mention the frustration of untying the yarn from the line. So the hooks are fine, but the line is less than satisfactory. However, I do not need another set of hooks. To use these for Tunisian crochet you will need another set as each needle is a different size. If you have a hook on both ends of the Tunisian cord, the fastening metal will be hooked to keep the yarn from snagging. It would be possible to cut off the metal end, but not exactly an ideal solution.
