Doesn't sync with Pixel

I wanted to use this for presentations at work and thought it was great value considering it's both a projector and speaker. I can usually get the tech working for me but haven't been able to figure out how to connect it to my Pixel, although there is tech support. They tried to help but also seemed unfamiliar with the product or the issue I was having. There seems to be options to sync with newer iPhones. I was able to return it without any problems and exchange it for a more expensive projector/speaker.
