I've been taking tap dance lessons for 21 years now (I think I started last Thursday). In those 21 years I've changed 3 or 4 pairs of tap shoes. In EVERY case, I struggled to find a pair of shoes that fit my size. I usually buy shoes from Capezio, but it seems that even if I buy shoes a few sizes larger than my US shoe size, they are still too small and constrict my feet, although they were otherwise fine. I finally decided to try these Sansha shoes and as soon as I ordered I couldn't help but notice that they had many extra sizes in the smaller shoes that young men would wear, but the sizes increased dramatically once They were obtained in sizes that a 200 pound adult male could carry. Based on the charts posted with the shoes, it looked like the closest size to my shoe size was a bit large, and it is. I wear size 11 street shoes and seem to remember, although I could be wrong, the shoes I bought were the closest I thought I needed. So they're a bit big, but that's not as important as going on stage in shoes that are too tight. I can work with these shoes. And these Sansha shoes are very well made, although they feel significantly heavier than the Capezio shoes I'm used to. One final note: my choreographer wears a pair of shoes that look almost identical to Sansha in appearance and construction, and she paid over $150 for her shoes. This makes Sansha shoes a real bargain. I would give these shoes five stars if they somehow magically made me dance like Fred Astaire. As it turns out I still have to dance on my own without any magical help, I figured four stars would be correct.
