The hook system isn't as good as a hook for example. There are 2 corner bars that go down. This creates two problems: the strap can catch and loosen, and the front of the end of the buckle tends to stick out a half inch from the rest of the strap because it's not pulled back by the strap tension. I hope as the adjustment holes wear out the front hook will get enough tension to stay level. The leather quality is ok, but not outstanding. My other work belt is a double bridal leather Filson, so they are very different in many ways.
