I built a new computer for a family member and I like to use a fan guard on the inside of the case fans in case an internal wire breaks. or something like that and it keeps the fan clean without jamming. It also protects your fingers when poking around in the case while the computer is on. Slapping your finger with a 140mm fan running at 2000rpm can be painful. This type of fan grille has also been shown to produce the least amount of noise in the airflow compared to other designs. Finally, the darkened color suited my physique and my fans. Looks great.
