pasta is enough. Other similar small noodles will also work - they're not big enough for spaghetti or other plain noodles. We've figured out what else to put in them - they're great for protein powders (damn, way better than those giant jars) and spinach lasts a few days longer in the fridge than it does in a bag. Probably great for oatmeal and other cereals (although I don't eat those) and maybe whole salt/pepper (storage for grinders). However, the main reason I got them was to keep the noodles straight. I was wondering if they were big enough but I think I should have taken a tape measure and measured the pasta -_-
