This is really perfect for our countertop coffeemaker. We have to pull it forward every morning so the water vapor from brewing doesn't cause damage to the cabinets above it. This sliding tray makes doing that so much easier!Slide it forward to brew, then slide it right back. It keeps the kitchen counter looking very neat.We only need it for the coffeemaker, but I can see that it would work well for other small appliances in addition to those that generate too much heat or steam. It would also be great for any appliance that has to be accessed from the top.
