Not enough spare rubber bands
Each butterfly is packed in a plastic bag. I bought these clockwork butterflies from two different sellers. This seller did not provide additional elastics. Another seller supplied 2 extra rubber bands in each individual butterfly pack. We have found that depending on the size of the butterfly, the butterfly needs to be wrapped up a bit and held by the tail before releasing it. This causes the butterfly to fly. Otherwise he just dives with his nose. It didn't quite "fly" when placed on a greeting card - it probably needed more rolling up. The kids love it.
