So far this welding blanket has performed exactly as intended. I used it when welding at work as my own YesWelder welder hasn't shipped yet. A blanket/curtain/mat works well for catching sparks or slag depending on how and where you place it. Heavy enough that I don't have to worry about being blown away by the wind and it can be held in place with the built in grommets. I recommend working with gloves as fiberglass always gets on the skin and causes irritation. I'm not trying to have excessive sparks or cinders, but if I do, this carpet/blanket/curtain has it all connected.
