Two problems, two solutions

There are two complaints about this tool. First, it won't pull out without removing the drill bit, and second, it's misaligned. As for the first problem, there is a trick to get the drills to behave correctly. After all drills are placed, slowly and gently pull the ruler up with your non-dominant hand, AT THE SAME TIME, gently press down on the diamonds with your dominant hand. This will prevent the drill bits from sticking to the ruler and you can hear them break out of the tool and fit snugly into the canvas. It's best for me to get one that hugs the ruler - the rest is perfectly aligned and set where it's supposed to be. As for the second problem - the discrepancy. The first canvas I used the ruler with had no problem. However, the second definitely had alignment issues. A slight change in the imprint of the drill field is enough to set the ruler in motion. I assume different creators and different factories are contributing to the problem. I noticed that on the second canvas, about half the length of the ruler lines up with the canvas, while the remaining half gradually aligns farther and farther away from the grid. So I just started adjusting the drills only on the first half, pulling them up, then re-adjusting the ruler for the second half and the problem was solved. What I LOVE about this tool is how amazing the drill bits are getting right now. Much more (and less stressful, I might add) than eye placement. And another plus of the ruler is that it absolutely does NOT need to be adjusted on the go. Either the drill goes into the hole or it doesn't, and if it doesn't, the drill will snap into place with a gentle click of your finger.
