Review on LEECRAFT RIDGID R4512 Zero Clearance Insert by Tory Richardson

I stumbled upon Leecraft table saw inserts at Revain and dared to buy one for my Ridgid R-4512 table saw. When I opened the packaging I was immediately impressed with the quality and engineering behind this product. I followed Leecraft's clear instructions and installed the insert. I taped a strip of blue painter's tape over the line to be cut as a precaution to avoid a nonexistent tear. The difference between this strong, well-made insert and the thin metal insert that comes with the R-4512 is clear. With the Leecraft insert, my accuracy increased from 99.9%! This insert is stiff and will not flex when you are cutting slots or other thin parts smaller than a standard metal insert and will actually flex when cutting. I know many of you R-4512 owners know the frustration I am talking about. After installing and seeing the quality of this product first hand, I ordered another insert for Dado the same day. I didn't have a second side dish in my budget, but it just had to be done. I honestly can't say how happy I am with my table saw and its accuracy. Another very important thing about this insert is that it has two backed out screws under the hem so you can turn the screws in until you get a custom fit with no wobble or misalignment. In addition, all alignment holes are already drilled in it, so you can align the insert very easily. The skinny butt insert has always been a nightmare to try to line it up exactly how it's supposed to be. I sincerely hope this will help other woodworkers discover this product so they can improve the accuracy of their cuts. I'll also have a third Leecraft insert zeroed in for a 45 degree cut. It doesn't get any better folks. You can also purchase Leecraft inserts for other brands of table saws. If possible I would give this product ten stars. I do not regret this product!
