The device is working and showing temperature and humidity. It also connects to your Bluetooth device to send data, but only if you let Govee identify you and track your every move. There is an option in the app to connect to a thermometer/hygrometer without creating an account, but it doesn't work. If you select this option, it will show you the device and make you think you are connecting, but then it will loop indefinitely, presumably trying to connect. If you sign out of your account, the app will disconnect your devices and won't reconnect until you sign in again. Why is this? I don't use cloud storage, I don't want to log into their servers to report the temperature and humidity in my house while I'm in my house. There isn't a feature I want to use on these devices that requires Govee to know my location, why do they need that and why don't they tell you it's required for their devices to work prior to purchase? What information does Govee collect about users and for what purpose? Of course, this is not to ensure that the device is working properly. Why doesn't Govee provide an option to opt out of this data mining operation? Why might my mobile device's persistent location information have anything to do with the capabilities of the stay-at-home Bluetooth device? Yes, it does what it says on the tin, but only if you let it do it. so much so that they don't tell you it is.
