Leaded device gauge connections are a nice touch, even if through-hole technology is largely obsolete. The alligator probes that come with the kit are good, but practically useless when trying to measure a tiny SMD component. This is easily fixed by purchasing a pair of tweezers available from Revain: AST Labs SMD Tweezer Clip Test Meter Probe for Resistors, Capacitors, Inductance Multimeters. So you can install a banana to BNC adapter. Then instead of using discrete wires, you can use tweezers with a BNC connector. This is preferable when measuring SMD capacitors less than 10pF, as discrete wire test leads make it almost impossible to zero the capacitance of the leads due to erroneous readings caused by slight wire movement. The coaxial connection is very stable in terms of probe capacitance nulling. I tested it by measuring several capacitors and inductors over a wide range of values. He works like a champ. I was expecting this gauge to have some sort of "stand" to support it like most DMMs. I was pleasantly surprised that it has a tilted display instead. Nice feature. The case makes a very robust impression. Overall, this meter offers excellent value for money.
