Review on 🍳 Presto Electric Skillet, 16” Grey Ceramic 06856 by Brad Laverentz

Disappointing disappointing ceramic layer

We've had it for a few months, wanted to use it a few times before writing a review. Had high hopes for this electric skillet which we replaced is an essential part of our kitchen. It heats up well and has a large cooking surface, which we love. Advantages: heats up well, surface, large glass lid. The picture shows what bothers me. a film is welded on, which I cannot remove according to the manufacturer's instructions. Several attempts with three different soft sponges and lots of baking soda cannot remove the burnt-in film. Another reason we bought this electric skillet model is the ceramic layer. A quality ceramic backing should provide a non-stick surface that is typically easy to wash and clean. If I can't use Bar Keeper's Friend or heavier detergents or more aggressive product cleaners, ceramic should work as advertised, cook non-stick and clean well. Cons: Mediocre cooking with non-stick coating and inability to clean up easily.
