Review on Boy Striped Pajamas Blu Ray Digital by Joshua Vogel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great! The end touches our sympathies.

This is a really good movie, worth watching. Despite some of the story's limited credibility, some people will want to see it a second time. Why? The weaknesses in the plot, such as the lack of security at the camp fences and the accidental excavation under the fence near the end of the plot, are outweighed by the film's great merits. This allows us to suspend our suspicions. Friendship is created through human will, emotion and interaction and not through ideology, propaganda and lies. So when two children are left to go about their lives, of course they do. It's this natural friendship that makes the drama because it's uncomfortable next to the adult Holocaust and its aftermath. Despite the young girl's introduction to Hitlerism, the Nazis' grip on power, reality and family is falling apart. It symbolizes the ultimate and long-term futility of the goals and values of the Holocaust. The Holocaust is a UN issue based on the natural powers of the human spirit overcoming bad politics, racism and social deception. For the deeper thinking person there is something to think about after the initial thrill of the film is over. While this particular story takes place in Nazi Germany, surviving against all odds is more common. Modern-day parallels can be drawn by those working to protect vulnerable groups and ethnic minorities from establishment persecution. This is the true success of the film.
