Review on 🍴 Stainless Steel Grapefruit Knife by Better Houseware by Jacob Ferrarini

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Hardly usable as a grapefruit knife

Wherever else a Better Houseware grapefruit knife is used, it hardly ever functions as a grapefruit knife. Slicing half a grapefruit is a relatively precise task. A sharp, serrated blade allows you to work quickly and easily. How a new serrated knife can become dull is a mystery, but this one was out of the box and needed sharpening. Using a sharp knife, the meat is carefully cut from the thick skin of each section and rarely cut. through the membrane. The correct result is a series of slices of grapefruit flesh, ready to be eaten. As always, a sharp knife gets the job done, and a person doesn't have to use it to cut properly. It's safer because the harder you work with the knife, the more likely you are to lose control and cut yourself. It has been suggested that an odd addition to the knife blade is the thumb rest. With it you can do advanced carving. I carefully place my thumb on the edge, which I can't trust. More identifying with a grapefruit knife, the curved blade makes it easy to cut through the skin to finish preparing half a grapefruit, but again, the lack of a sharp edge makes this more of a chore than it needs to be. I will keep my Better Houseware Grapefruit Knife but do not recommend it.
