I'm definitely not a network expert, but I was able to set up and configure the access point very easily. My main reason for the hotspot was to send a strong Wi-Fi signal to a nested camera above the driveway. I ran a 100 foot Category 6 cable from my main router to my garage attic prior to purchase so it wouldn't be too much at once once I have the access point. I didn't even know what POE was until I opened the box, but I read the instructions and hooked it up with no problems. Setting up the device wasn't difficult at all, especially after reading other people's comments and watching videos on YouTube. I was able to find the device's IP address in the AT&T app on my home network. I named the access point with the same password as the main router and set the security settings. Everything else was automatic. Now not only does my nest cam get a great signal, but my computers are upstairs and the Fire TV is a huge bonus! So far so good for a beginner. Based on my experience I would definitely recommend this AP.
