Review on Fermerry Silicone Stranded Electronic Automotive by Brian Buck

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality wire

Excellent quality wire especially for the price. I bought 26AWG and used it for JST 2mm connector. Plugs came out like factory. The wire is extremely flexible, even more flexible than my good set of silicone multimeter test leads. Initially I felt this, I thought there wouldn't be much real copper, but there is. I put the wire through his crotch and he did a great job with everything. The packaging says it's rated for 600V, but the seal on the insulation doesn't state that value. I don't have a high voltage insulation tester or a way to test this, but nothing is immediately apparent that makes me doubt this claim. Both the packaging and the insulation seal state 200°C. I baked a piece of wire in an oven at 385F (just under 200C) for an hour and there was no visible damage to the wire or insulation. I chose the yellow wire and the insulation hasn't discolored. After some measurements, the outer diameter of the insulation is about 63 thousandths, and the inner wire is a little more than 20 thousandths. This is within specs for 26AWG, if not slightly above. Measuring the resistance of a 25 foot reel is almost exactly 1 ohm, which is again within specification for 26 AWG.
