Review on πŸ’Ί Black Eurotech Vera Office Chair by Jackie Morales

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great chair/Terrible packaging

I bought the Eurotech Vera chair after trying some of the Steelcase (Leap v2 and Think V1) and Staples (Hyken) ergonomic chairs. I found that while all of these chairs offered excellent back and lumbar support, they had extremely hard seat cushions that became exceedingly uncomfortable after about 15 to 20 minutes. After a long search I decided on Eurotech Vera. I used to have a Eurotech chair (Raynor) that lasted over 15 years but the cushions had just straightened up and were no longer comfortable. Vera is the best of both worlds - a very comfortable chair with a mesh back and lumbar support and a solid, deeply padded seat that's comfortable for long periods of sitting. The seat is a godsend for me as it doesn't hurt my thighs and tailbone like Steelcase or Staples did. I find that I can sit comfortably with the pleasantly soft seat cushion and the very good back and lumbar support from the mesh back. Now - why downgrade from 5 to 4 stars. Simply put, the packaging of the Vera chair is terrible. I have never seen a new product so casually packaged from the factory. The box itself is made out of very cheap flimsy cardboard that is easily punctured or torn. In my case, the box's flaps were not properly taped or secured, resulting in noticeable gaps and holes in the box. The box was so poorly packaged that the Allen key that came with it was obviously sticking out of one of the holes on the valve. Bad sign. When I opened the box I was shocked to see that the mounting screws and washers were thrown loosely in the box. The small plastic sleeve that was supposed to contain the parts was taped to the wheeled box, but it was sealed and there was nothing inside. All the screws were just scattered across the bottom of the box. This left me missing 1 screw for the chair and a washer with 2 holes to attach the chair. I contacted Eurotech customer service to report the missing parts and then advised emailing their parts department. with a list of the missing parts they will ship. In the meantime I bought 1 screw and washers to attach the armrest to finish the chair. In conclusion, I would like to say that Eurotech Vera is a 5-star chair based on design and comfort. But the packaging is the worst, for which they deducted a star for the really sloppy packaging of the chair and its assembly parts.
