Review on πŸͺœ Werner 97P Extension Ladder Stabilizer and Surface Protectors: Adjustable True Grip for Optimal Safety by Jeremy Gulledge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best all round stand I've ever used:

I've used several stands and this is probably the best I've ever used and the versatility for the price. To convert the ladder back to "standard" all you have to do first is pull out two pins and remove the legs, which is very different from the "fixed versions" where you would have to remove the fastening system entirely. stable, although the "sliding fit" of the locking tubes is pretty sloppy. {EDIT: Don't forget that you can install extension legs in any of their adjustment holes, making them very versatile for different window widths etc.} Third, PADS are limited to wide angle designs. This design does not allow the device to be converted for "CORNER" use. You could probably change it up a bit, but the pads will still have limited rotation, I'm guessing a little less than the 45 degrees you'd need for an "ANGULAR" unit, which seems like a defeat. [I myself am looking for a modification to at least fit the corner of the bay front (45 degrees). The tubes are NOT exactly square which allows the footpad to 'fit', rotating 90 degrees into the foot tube is very tight BUT not impossible. . The rubber pad is already pretty slick NEW and I expect it will only get worse as the "rubber matures". I guess I'll probably use "RUBBER DIP" products myself in the future. IDEALLY they would sell a pad with a THICK SILICONE finish to fill the need for a rubber pad, as well as a wool "cap" that ALL comes off fairly easily. I can modify my rubber pad with multiple HOLES and mount it ON THE BLACK PLASTIC BRACKET - the holes allow the RTV to grip better AND create silicone rubber "breasts" that act as anti-slip points - the more the more better!

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No automatic
