I bought two FOB keys on ebay with bad transponders and the seller did not refund the money. The retailer couldn't even program these keyfobs. So I bought these keys, removed the transponders and replaced them with FOB keys, so now I have working FOB keys. So while I have not cut or used these keys, all these transponder chip keys have is the fact that the transponders work. Do It Yourself Programming into the vehicle is easy but requires two working 'master keys' which you should already have. One thing I've learned, however, is that when you insert two master keys (one at a time, of course) you wait for the airbag light to go off before taking it out - as I removed it after the other lights went out , was it did not work. The airbag light stays on a little longer (a second or two), leave the key in until it goes off, then immediately remove and insert the next key.
