To be honest , I don't know how to write this review. On the one hand, I was pleased that this small device made it easier for me to capture receipts, as well as some other advantages of the file system. On the other hand, due to some of the regular issues I've had with it, I found this thing absolutely disappointing considering how many years the company has been customizing the product. Pros: Scanner: o Minimalist design gets the job done without taking up much space. and when it works, it works. Software: Pretty good at recognizing and extracting target data points like taxes, totals, dates, etc. Generate is very useful. The cuts dig for an hour to find a receipt for this Lowe return after about 2 minutes of sorting. Cons - Scannero I'm not sure if it's a scanner or software issue, but sometimes it just stops working. The light is still on so it's using USB power, but the solution is to disconnect/reconnect it to get it working again. o If the leading edge of the receipt/document is not perfectly level or flat, it will be difficult for the scanner to get the initial grip software. o Can be very slow (connected to a very high quality laptop, I'm pretty sure it's not a computer). It often blocks scanning of the next check until it has done the initial processing of the last one. When scanning multiple checks, you can scan additional checks while the previous one is being processed (after several waits between each scan). However, I've noticed that some receipts on the stack that I know have been scanned just never show up once everything matches the spreadsheet. This leads to gross errors when reading out the data. I saw him withdraw $5.99 from the receipt and read it was $5990.00. He doesn't seem to be studying. You would think that after scanning the same type of receipt with the same design above, the business would eventually be recognized (based on what the user enters manually) and enter the "business name" correctly. Bad luck. Crashes from time to time Some reporting steps are not as proactive or customizable as I would like Like all of its competitors, it has its weaknesses. Plus, you actually pay for the software. You can get a scanner (as part of a multifunction printer) anywhere.
