These are 2.5" lights for mounting in 3" holes. I'm glad I read the other reviews about how difficult the installation was because it helped me formulate a better plan and the installation went great. They look great, come with a plug-in for existing two-pin plugs, and include an extra plug and cable should you need it. The connection of the lamp was already covered with dielectric grease. beautiful.To install:1. used a grinder and made a small bevel (the steel on that old CM boom lift is thick).2. Cut 8 slits in the inner ring (not the rim facing out). This allows you to insert a smaller section and hold it while you work closest, and the slots will not affect holding capacity after installation.3. Turn on the light (yes, I almost forgot as I was too focused on the installation) 4. Using an Allen wrench or smooth tool and a wide blade screwdriver, trim the rim. Just a combo so you don't puncture or tear the material but still need to push with some force here and there. . The second fixture was installed within 2-3 minutes of the bevel being created. Installation was easy enough and the product looks and feels so good that I am ready to order more. Updated 8/5/2021, 2.5 years later and all these sources are still working and as bright as day one.
