I'll simplify this, it's a pretty solid monitor and the PQ looks really good when set to dynamic. Every other mode lacks this colorful effect and doesn't look as impressive in comparison. I also found the picture to be a bit dark and not as bright as I'm used to, which is normal. But the actual look of the monitor is absolutely gorgeous with its glossy finish and beautiful clear mother of pearl stand etc. It's definitely my style! Also, there are lags with this set. Now I'm a big Nintendo gamer and what's up with you and I've been playing CRT since the 80's and I "always" play on my Sony 32 Wega CRT SDTV uses component cables and with any analog CRT the latency is ZERO You get perfect gaming performance and experience control, so I definitely "know" what it means to play lag-free Samsung on my CRT. I hooked up my PS3 to Samsung via HDMI to DVI and immediately the picture quality looked great in terms of resolution and it was crystal clear , but that's the way it's meant to be 1080p is screaming after all as with any LCD the movement wasn't that impressive CRT movement still plays a big role Technology The LCDs just can't beat latency, everything on this set looks crystal clear at 1080p out, for example the PS3 menus and a few or so PS3 titles that are actually 1080p like Virtua Tennis 3. There's no scaling required we all know that computer monitors have terrible scalers. I fired up Dead Space, which is native 720p, like all (or most) PS3 games, and it looked awful from the start, like a blurry, bloated mess. I had to step back 6 feet to make it look reasonably decent. As it stands, Dead Space looked more impressive in terms of resolution and of course motion, black levels and color on my 480i CRT TV with component cables. Simply put, the scaler sucks and you will be totally disappointed if you plan to play your 360 or PS3 games on this monitor. for that matter, like super mario bros and what you have. So I launched Mega Man 9 on PS3. It seemed wrong from the start. It wasn't bad by any means, it was actually quite playable and actually quite decent. But Mega Man didn't drive as fast and responsive as it did on my CRT. It was like a little weight had been added, and it was annoying. At the same time, MM9 was running on my Wii and I was constantly switching between them. Having played MM9 on PS3 on this 1080p TV I was not satisfied. I mean the lag wasn't that bad but it was still there and I'm pretty sure the game mode didn't matter. For everyone, use this computer monitor and nothing else. 720p PS3 and 360 games look awful on this display, and Blu-ray doesn't look particularly cool either. Lag I tested in a few games seemed manageable and would be perfectly normal for many. But retro gamers and co. who, like me, depend on perfect pixel accuracy will be disappointed. completely wrong.
