Very bright and dimmable red or white light, turning the light on by itself makes the light white or red and the switch in the base turns the light on or off and dims the light when held down. We installed both in an RV cab mounted horizontally overhead and behind the head above the driver and passenger seats. The light remained elongated horizontally and is located just in front of the sights. The light has a memory so it's on no matter how you set it up. We wired ours to the headlights so they come on when the front doors are opened, or can be switched on with a dimmer that Ford uses to control the brightness of the dashboard and turn on the headlights when they're fully turned. Now both lights are set to white and the brightest mode for entering and exiting the cabin. But it can be tweaked and customized in dozens of different options, using the brightness and choosing white, red, or off.
