Unusable and contains spyware

This WAX204 only allows you to access the full setup three times before registration is required, preventing subsequent wireless network setup and not even showing connected devices . The registration process requires Internet access on the device, which contradicts the advertised use as a hotspot. Registration requires you to give Netgear all possible rights over your data, and I can confirm that even without registration, the device was regularly sending encrypted data to the AWS server, despite the hotspot claiming it couldn't get onto the internet to register access. It's useless as a standalone access point on a secure network that only allows for internal management. As a result, nothing will connect to my network that requires rights to my content and permission to spy and is likely to violate HIPAA, so I'm returning it. 9.1 By uploading, transmitting, creating, posting, displaying, or otherwise making User Content available, you hereby grant to NETGEAR a worldwide, royalty-free, nonexclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable, and transferable license to (a) use, distribute, reproduce modify, adapt, create derivative works from, publicly perform and publicly display such User Content on the Services to the extent necessary for the provision of the Services, and (b) retain a copy of the User Content (including any applicable intellectual property rights) for archival purposes - and Legal Purposes ("License to User Generated Contentโ€). 12.4 Data Analysis.
