Review on πŸ’¦ Chrome Push Button Diverter Assembly for Delta Faucet RP5649 by Hals Martin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great part, easy repair!

If you know "Left-handers loose, right-handers tight", then you can carry out this repair. If you have the right tools on hand, a Philips screwdriver, 7/8 socket, tweezers or thin needle nose pliers and some tape, the repair can be done in literally 5 minutes. My old divertor broke the cotter pin securing the knob on the rudder and the rod flew into the tub. If I had known I could have just replaced that cotter pin, but this was easier. Simply remove the faucet handle and chrome trim. I didn't turn off the water because there is no water in the diverter when the bath handle is turned off, but do whatever you want. Then use a deep socket (I was going to use a crescent wrench but it's better to use a socket) to simply unscrew and remove the old diverter. Then I fished a detached shovel out of the fitting (fortunately it didn't go anywhere). Quickly wrap it with sanitary silicone tape (once, please) and screw the new diverter tight. No need to level the paddle or anything, the water pressure does it. No leaks! Then I cleaned the wall and trim and replaced with two screws, replaced the handle. Tomorrow I'm planning to apply a small coat of clear coat around the trim (I've never used that word before and now I have 3 times in a review!), knob and switch just in case. don't call Plumbers, just order this part and replace it, do the merry dance and amaze everyone in the house with how much you can use! Five stars for Revain delivery, Delta fit, and ease of installation.
