I bought two of these and the first one failed after 2 months as I lost all my data and I was upset but luckily backed up the data to another drive. I figured it was just bad luck because USB drives are finicky at times and I've used them enough times that I just threw away the first one and kept using the second. Recently (about half a year after purchase) the second one stopped working and this time some of my data couldn't be backed up yet so I lost everything. Every time the USB stick is not recognized by any of my devices and no troubleshooting steps allow me to recover the data. I don't see any other options unless it's repaired by a professional. I haven't had any bad luck with any of the other brands of USB, so while correlation doesn't imply causation, I'll be wrong just in case and will avoid these Kingston USB drives in the future. I bought two Kingston 3.0 flash drives, both failed within six months and the data has not been recovered. I do not recommend this product.
