Review on Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED Zoom Lens: Ultimate Auto Focus for Nikon DSLR Cameras by Yen Hong Cam ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best thing for the money, Im glad I chose this option.

Complex feelings overwhelm me when I write about this lens . :)) On the one hand, it was he who raised the quality and artistry of my work to a new level. On the other hand. I was almost disappointed when, instead of the cropped D7000, I screwed it onto the full-frame D600. Because before (on the D7000) it was a great all-around portrait lens with an equivalent focal range of 35-105 (crop makes the picture look closer). Now I have transferred it to the category of "event" and "full-length portrait". For those who believe that a normal portrait can be shot at f / 50, I will say: the closer the camera looms near the face, the more difficult it is for a person to relax. For a classic portrait, I still have to use the battle-tested 28-300 . Although, not without saliva and hope, I still look at the Nikon 135mm f / 2D AF. It should be noted that nature is gorgeous on this lens and it is also great for shooting high-quality DSLR video clips on Full Frame, you just need to get used to the short stroke of sharpness . Nano-coating, no matter how much I looked at it, I didn’t see it :)) Dust sticks to the front lens just like on other lenses. As for the alleged layer of increased hardness - my friend accidentally scratched the lens when he put on the light filter in a hurry. So, only the version with anti-reflective coating remains :)) Let's summarize :)) A lens from the "must have" category. Everything that I said about him there is related to the fact that I used to have an ideal scheme when shooting weddings on the D7000 - we shoot a report at 18-200, set at 24-70, which meant that for the whole wedding day I changed lenses between yourself only twice and on the table . Now you have to constantly pull them back and forth, often this happens in a hurry or in military field conditions, which is not useful either for the camera or for the optics. In general, I am quite satisfied with the lens and recommend it. I hope that in the near future they will either release the 16-400mm f/1.8G VRIII zoom, or I will develop a new scheme for shooting weddings : )) : )))))) Sincerely.

Pros
  • - Big and Light :)) - Excellent bokeh (background blur) - Durable because Iron - With skillful handling, replaces a lot of fixes - Good geometry (distortion is almost invisible) - Price (it has fallen significantly over the past three years) - Recommended for: Studio/Advertising/Wedding/Nature/
Cons
  • - at aperture 2,8 still lathers the edges of the frame - longer than the zoom 28-300 (with the new carcass D600 does not fit into the old wardrobe trunk) - no VR stabilizer (for reporting on the run, this is very critical) - I can’t get used to the fact that the first ring is now focusing, and the second controls the zoom, on previous lenses it was the other way around . - it seemed to me that the stroke of the sharpening ring is too short for manual work (for example, for video recording) - if only he could add a focal length of at least 85 with the same hole . then he wouldn’t have a price at all :))

very nice glass, especially with the D700 I think you are completely worth your cost.
