money wasted. Tape

I have a table and 2 bench seats on the covered back porch. My cats scratched a few spots on the front of one of the benches and I bought this to cover up the selected parts. Within a week it unrolled and peeled off. Professional level? I don't see how or mountains what profession. Now I have a huge roll of café colored tape that I can't use or return.
