Probably not worth bothering with

There are enough flaws in this product that I feel I have to throw it away. I don't hate it, but it's hard enough to use that I almost feel like it's not worth it. So far I've had sliced mushrooms, grated cheese and grated ginger. The slicer cuts into very thin slices. I was hoping for a more average piece. Loved the cheese grater. It was quicker than using a standing grater and I liked that it produced very large chunks of cheese. It's been a ginger nightmare, which is to be expected from anything with ginger, so I don't necessarily blame the product, but it did give me a better idea of the various downsides to this product. Loosening the blades in a grater is a serious drawback. The more difficult your work with the grill, the more difficult it is to loosen the blades. When working with ginger, I had to use a towel in the grater so I could apply enough pressure to dislodge the blades without cutting my fingers. Even then I almost thought I wouldn't make it because it took all my strength to free myself. This problem really needs to be addressed by the company. The suction is only really needed for more difficult work, but then it also fails. It is difficult to turn the knob when the car is skidding. It actually needs to be put on the counter but I don't know if that would be economical enough to be worth it. After using this for these three different items I will most likely buy an electric grater instead. It might be ok for cheese but not worth all the hassle with other things. Since I feel like buying an electric grater, I might as well get rid of this one.
