I should have read the reviews before buying. The containers came in their original form but the problem arose after removing the plastic wrap. The seals really do come from the groves. Seals stick to containers, leaving residue and parts that need to be scraped off. The seals went back into their slots easily the first time, but the second time the lid was removed they broke and then never went back in the right direction. The harness was easy to remove but when I put it back in I was never sure if it was securely fastened. I was afraid to press hard because the plastic seemed pretty flimsy. As for the breakdown, I haven't done anything to test it. I hand washed each one with the utmost care, only putting nuts and other dry snacks inside. Haven't tried heating them in the oven yet. I am very disappointed in this product. I have used many different types of containers and have never had seals stick to containers or leave any marks. I doubt the integrity of the products as well as the safety. I go back to my pyrex and stainless steel containers. This purchase was a waste of time, money and hope. Good idea, very bad design and durability.
