This is a very specialized micro lens. The pan and tilt functions are designed to mimic the view camera's ability to change perspective and depth of field. This is a MANUAL focus lens! It is well suited for macro, landscape and architectural photography. It can be used with any Nikon mount camera and features CPU lens contact points for use with modern digital SLR cameras. But is it spicy? Incredible picture quality! I mainly use it on my D610s and D810s but have also used it on my D7100s and D300s. On DX format cameras it has an effective focal length of 67.5mm (1.5X factor). That's an expensive lens! But what are your photos worth? One feature I wasn't aware of is the ability to tilt and move at any angle! The lens can be rotated in 30" increments with snap stops, opening up a lot of possibilities! The aperture range is from f-2.8 to f-32. F2.8 makes focusing very easy and offers a shallow depth of field if that's what you're looking for. At f-32 you have enough depth of field for different types of photos. I mainly use it for desktop photography. I've been shooting with Nikon cameras and lenses for over 45 years! This lens exceeds my expectations!
