Review on 🌬️ GermGuardian AP5800W: Superior 19" Hi-Performance Air Purifier with HEPA Filter & Air Quality Sensor in White by Alex Rea

The Germ Guardian has a solid reputation and this unit looks, feels and sounds great straight out of the box. A few minutes after turning it on, I was expecting to rate it 5 stars. The only problem is that it doesn't seem to quite filter the air of our evening allergens and doesn't detect VOCs when our bedroom was drenched with the scents of a new foam mattress. The same problem arose when we added spray insulation to our bedroom. The sensor almost did not change, the smells did not dissipate (I had to open the windows and turn on the fan to get rid of the smells). Meanwhile, two other air purifiers from our office and living room have detected VOCs. And one of our air purifiers (an expensive brand name) connected to a smartphone app reported an aerial threat as "serious". The fan is sufficient at its lowest setting, but as the speed increases, the noise gets too loud for my taste (probably 65 dB plus). Despite the failure of the VOC and sensor, I still wake up in the middle of the night. with stuffy nose. I was hoping an air purifier would help. even a little. For now, I won't be replacing that bedroom cleaner with this one. I'll just run them together and hope this one does something. anything?
