Overall it's reliable and good looking. I didn't buy it for normal purpose. I had a small closet that I turned into a jewelry box and was looking for extra storage underneath. This is perfect and works great in the bedroom. It has many pieces, like a giant jigsaw puzzle. No screws or anything else required. Assembly wasn't too bad, although it took some effort to fit some parts together. I was a bit disappointed with the quality. The MDF feels very light (almost like cardboard) and I would be concerned about putting anything too heavy on it. As said, it turned out to be surprisingly durable. I assume the 40lb weight limit is correct. I don't like that the edges don't have smooth coloring. It's not very noticeable, but if I used it on my desk it would bother me. If the price was a little lower I wouldn't mind. You can also see where the joints are that don't look their best. Overall I'm happy for the price and would recommend it if you're looking for a cheap solution. Tip: I really hated the blue boxes. I originally wanted to paint them but it's quite time consuming and not the easiest given how the pieces fit together. The contact paper made it great though and I love how it now matches my jewelry box! I have a feeling this piece is just asking for DIY decorating help. So if you buy it as an art project starter you will be happy.
