I did some tests with this blimp and my Sennheiser ME66 on the roof in 40mph winds in Chicago. Perfect! The pistol mic fits like a glove, never hits the sides when moving, and works great. The structure withstood the gusts of wind, and the dead cat blocked most of the wind. What remained was easily removed with light noise reduction, leaving me crisp and clear voice recordings. The airship is about 30% cheaper than a comparable Rode module and significantly smaller than a standard Rycote pistol grip airship, but works just as well. I don't have enough rubber on the Rode grip but I usually have it on my boom so it doesn't matter. Deadcat was a little tight, but after installing it a few times it got easier. I've been told they'll make it a bit bigger in the future, but I prefer it if it's neat to avoid wobbling. If you're looking for an airship, you can't go wrong with this digital photo device.
