Review on πŸ’» Philips 272E1GSJ 1080p Frameless LED Monitor with Adaptive Sync and 144Hz Refresh Rate - Suitable for Gaming and High-End Computing Needs by Edwin Tanamas

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It's good for the price, but the first-person shooter performance is terrible.

I've had this monitor for about two months and initially used it on my console. I've never experienced particularly noticeable ghosting in the time I've owned this, but when I had a desktop it was a whole different story. It's only recently that I've found that it's not the in-game motion blur that's making me sick, it's the pixel refresh delay that causes ghosting and motion blur. I tried setting the maximum response time but there was no improvement. I tried playing around with the contrast and it worked, but the ghosting is still noticeable. However, not everything is so bad. If you're a very casual gamer and only want to experience 144Hz, then that's fine. The colors on this item are very good for the price you pay. It has some settings that you can change, but I'd say they're pretty limited. The biggest thing that worries me a lot and maybe some other professional FPS players is the motion blur. A very disappointing monitor with a 144Hz refresh rate but with noticeable ghosting and motion blur. . Don't get me wrong, this is a good monitor for the price, but it's not what you'd expect from a monitor with a 144Hz response rate and 1ms response time.
