The best time for me to run is either very early in the morning or after I've put the kids to bed at night. Our area is fairly well lit but people are still not paying attention and nearly hit me and my dog on several occasions. Since then we've tried different lighting options. For myself (a person) I tried bracelets of this brand and a bracelet that can be adjusted with a small clip. The clip-on was more comfortable (the slapstick digs into my hand) but I got tired of buying batteries and if I didn't fit them properly (on the calf and arm) they would dig in or pinch. So far this is the best option as it can be charged with a micro USB charging cable (each charge has lasted about three 45 minute runs so far, but I haven't tested more than that). It adjusts to fit most waist sizes. Easy to put on. What I don't like is that the lighted part is only on the front half. I must be visible to oncoming vehicles from the front and rear. I just turn it sideways so the lighted part faces the roadside where the cars are driving. When running, it rises to my natural waist and doesn't stay on my hips.
