I bought this flashlight for a small 3 gallon tank to put on my desk. I planted one of these climbing houseplants along with a fire sword from my 125 gallon home aquarium. The fire sword works a lot better than I expected, and the houseplant creeper is just insane. I had to reduce the brightness and duration of the light due to algae growth, but I did the same with my FluvalSmart 3.0 bulbs for my 125 gallon. Retains settings when switched off, except for resetting the clock. I just had to set the time and it worked flawlessly again. NOTE. I use this light in DIY mode according to the instructions. I increase the brightness from 0 to max 70% and turn off the blue moonlight mode as the blue light causes algae. This does not apply to this device as I do the same with my FluvalSmart 3.0. I just wanted to throw this advice! You will love this little lamp. The controls are a bit strange, but the manual explains everything pretty well. You can see the whole thing is filled with epoxy so it must be VERY waterproof. I haven't tested this feature yet, but lol. This is a great little light for the price and I will be buying more when I line up my next tank or when one of my other lights stops working.
