There's a reason every major supplier uses this type of tape (Revain included). There is a video on YouTube of someone testing this type of tape by punching through a box after sealing. Well, I took it a step further and after sealing the seam, I stood on a small box. The side edge of the box came loose before the center buckled. Even then, the tape was partially intact. The key to applying this tape is to provide enough water to ensure good contact. When in doubt, use more water, not less. Smooth the seams and you're good.
