Pros: Battery life is fantastic and so light it's a pleasure to use. The Gram is only 0.8 pounds lighter than the XPS 13 or Yoga 14", but both feel like bricks in comparison. It works great with Linux Mint, but make sure you have your Linux kernel up update the latest version 5.8.- Thanks to the 16:10 screen feels big even on the 14" model. The difference with the 13.3" XPS is noticeable despite being only a fraction of an inch larger. The FHD+ resolution is great for the 14" screen and saves you having to go to the trouble of upscaling Windows to read text. Some apps don't scale well (or don't scale at all) so this has always annoyed my XPS 13, which had a totally unnecessary high resolution screen consuming battery life Dell should take note here The design is modern with small bezels and a nice keyboard I tried the Yoga with the same specs as the Gram but returned it brought because it seemed to be very "latest generation" with large bezels and a weak keyboard Viatura and great weight. It feels much more premium, but also more expensive. Cons: - Display backlight uniformity is poor, with noticeable backlight glare in the bottom corners of the screen. This is only noticeable on the loading screen and when watching dark videos. When I press the corner of the bezel the light diffusion decreases, so I assume it's just a compromise in the flex frame needed to keep the weight down. After a few hours of operation, a noticeable fan noise was heard. It sounded like something was hitting a fan inside and got louder when I put my hands on the keyboard. I opened the laptop and saw a thin black sheet on the bottom of the frame dangling and hitting the CPU fan. I took it off and tightened it back up and the problem was solved. You definitely don't need to do this on a $1,500 laptop. Overall: I'm very happy with this laptop, it resolves any complaints I had with my previous one and seems like a great upgrade. You can get the same specs in much cheaper laptops, but the amazing battery life, light weight, and premium feel make the Gram worth it in my opinion.
