I honestly wanted to like this cushion but at the end of the day I couldn't. It is a dense foam so when compressed it is not what I would call soft. I imagine this would be great for a wood/steel chair with no cushion at all. For me trying to improve my office chair with an existing cushion it never felt comfortable. My reason for getting this was recently having back surgery for sciatica. The profile of this cushion looked like what I wanted where it would provide some nice cushioning on the back of my legs. The contour does match the body better than other cushions, but the foam was too hard for me to feel comfortable.One thing I wanted to add - if you are a bigger guy (I'm 6'2" and 250 lbs) spend the money and get the larger size. The extra width was welcome and was nearly the same size as my current chair cushion. Otherwise I can see part of your bum overhanging the edge of the cushion and that becoming uncomfortable.
