It just seems to me that this particular model of rice cooker always overcooks? Maybe mine is something special? Anyway, it doesn't seem to matter how much rice we cook, the device sprays sticky rice water during the cooking phase. With the other, smaller rice coolers we've had, this has never been a problem. never mind. But put a plate or tray underneath or you'll have a real mess to clean up. Otherwise, this is a useful large rice cooker. One size fits all veggies IF you use the included plastic steamer basket (Mmmm. Is it good to cook in plastic?). Easy to use. Easy to clean.
